I'm not a re-enactor but want to help the event.
How can I?
If you have ever witnessed this dramatic recreation of D-Day, you
know that it takes a lot to time, effort, dedication, and of course funding to
organize, promote and bring together all the elements of a Normandy style
invasion. If you like to help in bringing back to life this historic day,
there are a number of ways you can without donning a uniform.
Volunteer
- There is nothing stronger
than the heart of a Volunteer! Help us on the day of the event by assisting
event coordinators with setting up special seating areas for our Veterans, with public parking or maintaining the grounds. There is so much to
do and your help would be very appreciated. Please
email us if you can lend us a hand. Thank you from all those so
dedicated to preserving our history.
Donations
-
Of course monetary
contributions are always welcome and your kind donation will be used to further
enhance the educational experience of D-Day Conneaut. If you would like to
make a tax deductible contribution
please contact
our treasurer. If you itemize your deductions,
upon your request we'll be happy to provide a formal letter indicating the
amount of your contribution. Online donations can also be sent securely
via Paypal. Click here if you'd like to donate
online...
Donations of Goods - Donations of a variety of goods can be made
as well. Beverages, especially bottled or bulk water, snacks, paper goods, computer supplies, sandbags, plus plywood and
poles for bunkers and beach obstacles are very much appreciated. If you or
your company would like to make a contribution of this nature, please
send us an email.
Decorating the
Beach - Interested in being a part
of the invasion without getting your feet wet? Well the best way is to build a
hedgehog beach obstacle. The cost of building materials as well as
your time building these hallmark symbols of the D-Day are also tax deductible. Your donation will become
the property of D-Day Ohio and will be stored for use year after year. Plans for
these obstacles which look like the children's toy "jack" are available for by
clicking on the picture below. So if you have some extra lumber lying around
and time on your hands, turn it into something special for the event that honors
the turning point of the 20th century, D-Day!
Let us know if you can help us out by decorating the beach! The allied
troops will certainly appreciate the cover...

to make a hedgehog.
